Description
Guarding The Royal Plate Is Serious Business; 160 pieces of priceless Plates are being taken across London from Buckingham Palace to the Victoria and Albert Museum in a plain truck with a motorcycle escort for an exhibition opening next month. Items date from the reign of Charles II (1660-1685) to that of Queen Victoria (1837-1901). Picture Shows Danny, a specially trained three years old bull mastiff who rode in the truck, guards a gold center piece of the Royal Plate. Obviously he takes his job very seriously.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8 inches.

Photo is dated 1--1954.
