Scots Guards On Patrol: Not since the Romans were saved from the midnight attack of the Gauls in 390 BC by the alarm given by a gaggle of geese ----have geese had such precious duty to preform. At Ballantines Distillery Dumbwaiter near Glasgow,.....70 white geese guard $350,000,000 worth of Whiskey maturing in bond (enough to flat the Queen Mary) and 10% of all the whiskey in the world. Since the geese took up guard duty no attempt has been made to remove so much as one precious 44 gallon drum..."They are better that guard dogs" says a representative of the firm" because they don't need a handler, and they don't work to any predictable pattern". Above that they keep the grass short & lay eggs which are sold for charity...Over $100 so far. Only two security guards help them perform the nightl7y vigil... and if left to themselves they could not so much as walk past the 30,000,000 gallons if they walked all night. Since bringing the goose patrol into being Ballantines have been besieged with queries from all over the world, including the US army who have been considering the idea for their military installations. The geese wander at leisure, and raise a terrific commotion every time they even detect a sound...more than that.....they are most jealous of their territory,m and when in force will attack and intruder. Pictures Show Inside maturing sheds on patrol..they are ed by a Crusty Old gander called Ballanttine. The intruders eye vie as the goose patrol attacks. Waddling past their whiskey keg headquarters,.
