Saved From Extinction: Hawaiian Ne Ne geese at Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust, Glos, which has served the species from extinction. There were only 42 known birds in the world 21 years ago but since then the Trust has reared more than 800 birds - returning 200 to the wild and distributing 180 on loan to international zoos and wildfowl breeders.
