1970 Press Photo Giraffe and her baby at Zoo in Basle

A happy event at the Zoo in Basle For the second time a happy event was registered in the giraffe enclosure in the zoo at Basle. The beaming mother (our pix) who proudly contemplates her rather high-nosed off spring, is an elderly lady who has been living in the Basle Zoo since 1956. Her son has been named "Saba" and she takes very good care of him. It is expected that he will one day be leading as high a living as his mother.
