Prince Philip to Plead For Kangaroos Prince Philip is to plead for the salvation of Australia's kangaroos from indiscriminate destruction by professional hunters when he speaks at a Mansion House, London, dinner in aid of the World Wild Life Funds. The problem of Kangaroo-killing, which one naturalist warned could wipe out the species, was raised in Australia recently when it was disclosed that 10,000 of the animals are killed every week by hunters who sell them for their hides or as pet food. Picture Shows:- One picture which shocked Australia: a mother Kangaroo lied dying from a hunter's bullet while her joey, too young to flee, is bewildered.
