Kangaroo Slaughter Con: An outery has been raised in Australia against the wholesale slaughter of kangaroos by professional and amateur hunters. The kangaroos fetch 15 siblings a head from canning companies which sell the meat as pets' food, others hunt them for their hides. An estimated 10,000 are killed every week a rate which, a naturalist warned recently, could soon wipe out the species.
