Sept.20th, 1973 World Children's Day: As in previous years, Germany commemorates on this date World Children's Day. This year's slogan is: "Children's playgrounds - dumping lots?" It points out that children of undeveloped countries, suffering from misery and malnutrition - caused by the social and economic conditions in their native countries should also have the right to play and get a good educations which will prepare them for their future life. To help these children UNICEF was founded in 1946. This special body of UN is trying to better the conditions under which those children have to live not only by providing food, but also by improving the educational conditions. For this purpose UNICEF needs YOUR donations. In Germany contributions should be made to: Account NO. 300 000 OF Postscheckamt Koln; Deutsche Bank; Dresdener Bank and Commerzbank. Nigerian children with their "toy", an old tin bowl.
