Paintings of Japanese looking European and American politicians â Inspired by the Tokyo Summit (which took place at the end of June 79), Sumiko Kudo (picture) made these unusual paintings of the top politicians participating there. The Japanese artist, living in Munich/West Germany, painted the Heads, of State and Government, like American President Jimmy Carter, French President of State Giscard dâEstaing, German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt and, of course British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, looking Japanese.
