V = Very Crowded: Japan with a population of 112 million, and still growing, plus the sky rocketing price of land, results in new housing complexes being squeezed together like sardines in a tin. Even in the Northernmost Island of Hokkaido, where land is more obtainable than in other regions of the country, builders still find difficulties in finding suitable sites near cities and towns for the convenience of commuters. Photo shows a wedge shaped suburban residential complex in Okadama, on the outskirts of Sapporo, Hokkaido's together in a limited space.
