Ashes of Greek General returned to Athens: A guard of honour of the Greek Presidential Guard carrying the casket containing the ashes of Maj-General Chrisodolous Gigantes from the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bayswater yesterday in preparation for a journey to a final resting place in Athens. Gen Gigantes, a war hero, who died in exile in 1970, had stipulated that his remains should not be taken to Greece until democracy was restored.
