1966 Press Photo Italian Communists Staged Rally in Piazza del Popolo

Italian Communists staged rallye in Piazza del Popolo (People's Square) today over Vietnam Almost 7,000 persons gathered in the Square to hear leftist speakers berate "American aggression" in Vietnam; The Italian Communist Party had staged wide publicity for days, they predicted that tens of thousands would attend the rally from all over Italy. The rain stopped and bright sunshine warmed Rome a few hours after the rally were over. Photo shows a musician shelters oneself from the rain by a half trombone.
