Beginning of the vintage; Soon the time is coming, for the vintage in the German wine districts the wine dressers start to harvest the grapes - but the chances for a good harvest are very poor. The heavy frosts at the beginning of the year had caused great damages to the tendrils of the wine. In the wine districts of Frankonia for example partly it's feared that in this year only the third part of an annual average got reached. Also in the districts at the rivers Mosel, Saar and Nahe, in Rhinehessen and Baden are lower harvests to expect than in the past years. It's hoped that after a rainy summer the sun of the autumn brings some quality into the wine.
