Death of the Carrieton Dingo: The dingo which had been plaguing the farmers of Adelaide, Australia has finally been killed. The dingo who had killed more than a 1,000 sheep in 12 months, was shot by conservationists make a fuss, they should come here and look at a sheep writing in agony with its stomach torn out". It was a solemn end for the dog that had outwitted the farmers for nearly a year. In Carrieton, near the Polden property, there was all round cheers when the farming fraternity turned out to inspect the kill. Gus Polden stood with his New American Ruger 22,250 which put an end to the four legged menace that now was laying stiff in his tray top Ford. Photo shows Farmer Gus Polden stands over the carcase with his new rifel, demonstrates how he trapped the dingo with a howl.
