1960 Press Photo UN assistance in the Congo

UN assistance in the Congo: Some 11,500 soldiers from nine countries are now on durty with the UN force in the Republic of the Congo, helping to restore order and calm in the country. Assistance from these and other countries, in addition, includes technical and medical personnel, air transport, heavy materials, food and various supplies. UN specialized Agencies are also cooperating in the UN affort. Here at new village, Leopoldville, milk is distributed to children at the Foyer Social Renkin School. The milk was donated by the Swiss Government. Jo~~ Mulueme, Red Cross official, is supervising the distribution.
