Description
Fight to the ice: On account of the fact that every winter brings many car accidents, cauced by icy streets, the engineers thought of heated roads for easier and safer driving. They developed "Calorway", a new heating method for streets, making the snow melt away before it is turning to ice. A controlling system is measuring the humidity of the atmosphere, rainfall and temperature and turns the "road heating" on, in order no ice can appear in the first place. The grating heating mats are only a few millimeters beneath the road surface and only 15 minutes are necessary to heat the street. 20,000 square meters dangerous places home and abroad have already been made "safe for winter time". Expenses amount to about DM 70, --- to DM 200,---- per square metre. Photo Shows Motor road near Amsterdam. The "T" of the corresponding heated.

Photo measures 7.25 x 5 inches.
