1971 Press Photo Yamada Hotspring resort in Nagano Prefecture

Free Apples in Tokyo: In order to attract Tokyoites to the Yamada Hotspring resort in Nagano Prefecture, some 220 kms from Tokyo, the proprietors lined up a party of Yamada girls in their provincial costumes to hand out 30,000 apples to passers by in polythene wrapped packs containing three apples grown in the Yamada area. Photo shows the Yamada girls hand out apples on the Ginaa.
