New Imperial Palace under construction, Tokyo: The new Imperial Palace, now under construction, will be completed next autumn. The old Palace is now partly demolished and it is thought that is is too small to welcome foreign visitors. The plane for the new Palace had long been discussed and finally the construction has been started next to the Imperial Household.
