English Channel and Loch Ness to be crossed by Japanese ball. Attempts will be made this summer to cross the straits of Dover, and Loch Ness with a water - ball made in Japan. It is propelled by someone walking inside it, like a treadmill. The "Play Ball" is 2.2 meters in diameter, and weighs 38 kgs. The Channel crossing is to be made this coming July, and Loch Ness in August. Photo shows: Two of the "Play Balls" being tested in a Tokyo swimming pool.
