But in port Talbot a local businessman by the name of George James gambled on Welsh susceptibility to change and spent an initial 15,000 on converting his gambling club premises which stand in a dim side - street opposite the chapel and overs shadewed by the biggest steel-works in Europe. Thousands of pounds change hands a week over the tablws and with underfloor lightig, chandleiors, and a cabaret festuring stars from all over the country well local acts, mr.
