Description
Andrean divide - Galera alt. 4781 m: The transandean train stops at the Galera station on the Andean divide, at an altitude of 4781 meters. The country ressembles a little the Alps of Europe, but one shouldn't forget that those mountains are alle higher than 5000 meters. The Galera station itself is a little lower than the peak of Europe's highest mountain, the Mont Blanc.

Photo measures 9.5 x 7.25 inches.

Photo is dated 11--1972.
