Operation Friendship Groves is a German-American friendship project designed to encourage development and conservation of forest resources and the protection of wildlife. More than 300 German and American school children, 10 to 16 years of age, will undertake to plant 6,000 evergreen seedlings and deciduous trees with the assistance of the Bavarian State Forestry Department, which is providing the seedlings free of charge. Our picture shows a German and a American child with a German of the Bavarian State Forestry Department plant a seedling into the Perlacher Forest near Neubiberg Air Base by Munich.

Photo measures 8 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 05-05-1956.
