A Bridge Will Be Shifted: On April 7th and 8th, the Oberkasseler Rhine bridge in Dusseldorf (West-Germany) will be shifted, not however by this charming girl (picture). The 600mtrs long and 35mtrs wide bridge will be placed on new piers, which lay 47,5mtrs downstream, The bridge costed 100 millions DM and was opened for the traffic three years ago. It was built next to the old bridge, which was destroyed in 1945 and rebuilt in 1948, although much too small, because the traffic should not be interrupted as the old bridge was pulled down. Meanwhile the old bridge was torn down except it's piers, on which now the new bridge will be placed.

Photo measures 8.75 x 6.5 inches.
