Sale of Arms and Armour at Christies suit sold for 370: A sale of the collection of Arms and Armour, formed by Folke Ellioth of Goteborg, Sweden - properties of James Christie Esq - and of the late R.W. Lloyd Esq., etc. was carried out at Christies today. One of the main items sold was a suit of Armour - one of twelve suits made for Elector Christian I of Saxony, and which was to have been presented to him on Christmas Day 1591.. The Electro died four months before - so the gift was never made... The suit today was purchased by Sir James Mann, Armoury Keeper of the Tower of London and Keeper of the Queen's Armour - for 3170..
