Sale of Arms and Armour at Christies. Suit sold for £370 - A sale of the collection of Arms and Armour, formed by Folke Ellioth of Goteborg, Sweden, properties of James Christie Esq. and the late R.W. Lloyd Esq. etc. was carried aout at Christies' this morning. One of the main items sold was a suit of armour one of twelve suits made for Elector Christian I of Saxony, and which was to have been presented him on Christmas day 1591. The Elector died four months before so the gift was never made. The suit today was purchased by Sir James Mann, Armoury keeper of the Towers of London and Keeper of the Queen's Armour for £370.
