Saxon finds in London - near St. Paul's remains of two ancient huts.: Excavations on the site of a new building between Cannon Street and Queen Victoria Street - have disclosed the outlines of two huts of the Saxon period - which are thought to be important evidence in the reconstruction of the history of Ancient Anglo-Saxon London. The huts are b~li~ed to date from about A. D. 900. The smaller of the huts is about 10ft. x 7ft. in height. The walls are indicated by traces of timber - and the roof was eighter wood of thatch.
