19-year-old Welsh Weaver Flying to shows the U.S.: Americans will get a glimpse of a young girl working at an old craft when Miss Ivy Lewis, 19-year-old Welsh Hosiery Werver, demonstrates her skill at Cincinnati's Import fair, which from October 12-24 will feature the craftsmanship and products of 14 foreign countries. Dressed in national Welsh costume, Miss Lewis will use a hand-loom being flown over direct from Wales. The demonstration is being sponsored by the Cincinnati store of John Shillito, a large importer of British goods, to promote sales of the hand-woven wool socks manufactured by the Corgi Hosiery Co. of Wales, the girl's employers. Photo shows Ive Lewis (Seated) show Miss Janet Jones ("Miss Wales") a sock which she had just finished making at the Corgi Hosiery Co. of Wales. Both girls wear the Welsh national costume.
