Description
Street cries heard again in London. 18th-Century Tradition revived: Traditional street cries were heard again in London today, when a dozen attractive girls dressed in Regency costume, chanted street cries of the 18th century, as they gave away sausages, pies and other victuals to passers-by. Purpose of the occasion was to revive the old methods of selling sausages and meat pies which existed from Tudor times until the beginning of the last century. Photo shows Jean Miller, 22, of Hampstead, one of the attractive girls dressed in Regency costume as she set out with her sausages today.

Photo measures 6 x 8.25 inches.

Photo is dated 8-26-1959.
