Work Starts on Cleaning St. Paul's The mammoth job of cleaning St. Paul's Cathedral, for the first time in 250 years, has begun. Workmen are busy on the historic building's West Front -- up to now the only part for which there are enough funds available. The Dean said cleaning the whole Cathedral would cost about $100,000. picture shows: Family specialists in washing down buildings, Harry Burton, 62, and his son Harry Burton, 38, of Kentish Town, get to work on St. Paul's "Facelift" today.
