RUSSIAN GOLD CUP IS AWARDED FOR THE BEST MODEL AT THE MODEL ENGINEER EXHIBITION A gold-sup, valued at over £100, and presented by the Russian model shipbuilders when they visited the Model Engineer Exhibition last year, was put up for competition for the first time this year, and awarded for the best achievement in marine model engineering. The cup was won by Mr. Norman Miles Peters, of Wellington, Surrey, with his model of H.M.S. Grenville - destroyer converted to anti-submarine frigata,,,which is 5ft, 8ins in length, beam 6 3/4 ins. and approximate weight 23 lbs. It is driven by electric motors and batteries, KEYSTONE PHOTO SHOWS- CHARLES MARTIN (10) holding the Russian Cup - so he admires the winning model this morningâ¢.. MR. METERS does not as yet know that he is the winner - because he is touring Cornwall by car-and does not return home until Monday-
