Rail strike scenes. Stranded Holiday makers rescued.: A 23 year old fireman and his engine driver stepfather yesterday rescued 950 stranded holiday-makers. The two drove the only train from Plymouth to Paddington. When Bill Hare, fireman and member of the striking union learned out of his engine cab at Paddington, mothers with children rushed up to shake his hand. They cheered him and driver Harry Samuel. Bill and Harry both live in Taunton. Harry, who is 62, and an engine driver for 33 years, is a member of the N.U.R. Photo shows fireman Billy Hare and his stepfather engine driver, Harry Samuel seen at Paddington after arrival from Plymouth yesterday.
