Iznik, Turkey. Turkish "Sword and shield " dancers confront one another in mock duel as Iznik celebrates its annual grape festivel in september. The yearly festival recalls a time , older even taht the town's Byzantine past, when Nicaea celebrated the rites of Dyonysus or Bacchus, the city's Mythic founder and god, among other things, of wine.
