Mrs. Mopp Goes Gay: Capers At The Charladies Ball: Was your office desk just a wee bit dusty one day last week? Or was there a tiny bit of ash left on the carpet? If so, don't blame the char. She probably was a bit pre-occupied that night. For those worthiest of the worthy - to give them a well - earned title - those women who get up before dawn cracks the sky and make their way in small groups to "do" the rooms and corridors of those tens of thousands of offices in the big city were celebrating. In spite of their oft' consider the, and the never-doubted hardness of their toil and the ~~~~ness of their rewards, these "Mrs. Mopps" - as they have been known since wartime Tommy Handley so christened them - are the cheeries and best-hearted of the world;s workers. So, once a year, the charladies of London get together and a skiffle group and other attractions, all help to make the chars night off and out a tremendous success.
