Cattle Get Preview of Villages's Coronation on Tableau.
Meadle, Bucks, is holding a Coronation Carnival on June 6th and one of the tableaux to be included depicts Queen Elizabeth I with her ladies in waiting, pages and Yeomen of the guard. All the parts are being taken by children and the ladies of the village have all co-operated in making the costumes from old scraps of material. The total cost amounts to $3. Playing the part of the Queen is pretty 13 year old Ursula Moore. While crossing a field on their way to a rehearsal the children found their way barred by inquisitive cows eager to get a preview of the tableau. They soon got out of the way however, when the Beefeaters arrived, somebody must have told them that Yeomen of the Guard are not called Beefeaters for nothing!
Queen Elizabeth I (Ursula Moore) has her crown arranged for her by her little Lady in waiting, 4 year old Jean Rogers, watched by the Yeomen of the Guard, Michael Evans; Richard Walls; Tony Rogers and Martin Fowler.
