Mother of nine is Denmark's Minister of Commerce.: The fact that Denmark's new Minister of Commerce is a woman is surprising enough, but that she is also mother of nine children makes it even more unusual. Fair haired, Mrs. Lis Groes has been elected Trade Minister in the new Socialist Government's Cabinet. She has many times in the past proved her efficiency and fitness for the job and it is especially popular among the women of Denmark. people wonder how Mrs. Groes can combine her job with that of housewife and mother to four girls and five boys, the eldest 16 and the youngest 2, but Mrs. Groes has a plan which works very well all the children have been brought up to help in the house and to help each other, a weekly timetable is pinned up in the Kitchen telling each child what job he or she has to do for the week. Not only does is make for smooth running of the home, but it gives the children a sense of responsibility. After a busy day at her office, Mrs. Groes still has time to enjoy her home and her children and the people of Denmark feel confident that if she can run her new job as efficiently as she runs her home and her own private life, they will be well served by their new Minister.
