Description
Martha Kuchler; One of the Last Town-Criers in the Federal Republic. She nearly is 'unique' for there are not a lot of them left: Martha Kuchler, 70 years old and one of the last town-criers in the Federal Republic of Germany. The bell in one hand, in the other the written document, she is walking through the streets of Charlottenburg (Rhein-Lahn-Kreis), ringing the bell and bringing thus the official news to the knowledge of the citizens. A very nice and human way of instructing people about official affairs! The local government will therefore stay to this old tradition also in the furture.

Photo measures 6 x 8 inches.
