First German units handed over to NATO: On the occasion of the handing over of the first German Bundeswehr units to NATO a ceremony was held on July 5th 1957 at the Tannenberg Kaserne in Marburg. Photo shows General Norstad, Commander in Chief of the Allied Forces in Europa and General Heusinger Commander General of the Bundeswehr trooping the line of an honor company.
