Nigeria Returns to Civilian Rule: Nigeria returned to civilian rule yesterday after 13 years. About 70,000 people jammed the Tafawa Belewa Square in Lagos to cheer the inauguration of Civilian President Aljahi Shebu Shagari. Dr. Nnamdi Aizkiwe, the former President of Nigeria's first republic, and leader of the Nigerian Peoples party.
