24-5-57 Man goes berserk with shotgun in Sydney. Kills one, wounds two â Charles Spittiri, a Maltese migrant went berserk with a shotgun in Sydney, Australia, shooting dead a man, wounding a woman and a detective, then fell dead from a bullet from the wounded policemanâs gun. The crazy gunman was at bay in a house for six hours. Photo Shows: Fellow police officers strive desperately to staunch the blood pouring from the shotgun-shattered arm of heroic young detective, Ken Gilmour, who shot dead the maniacal Maltese killer after the Sydney, Australia gun battle. Gilmourâs upper was almost pulped.
