1957 Press Photo Neil McElrot, Willy Brandt, Berlin Grunewald

America's Secretary of Defense visited Berlin. America's Secretary of Defense arrived on Tuesday. December 10,1957 from London in Berlin for a 5-hour "flash-stop". Right after his arrival NEIL H. MCELROY drove to the training area of American units stationed in Berlin-Grunewald where he inspected the 6th Infantry-Regiment. Then he visited the Berlin Town-Mayor, WILLY BRANDT, who presented him with a replica of the Freedom-Bell after he had entered his name in The Golden Book of the town.
