New arrivals at Whipsnade â Important new arrivals at Whisnade are Katie and Susie, two baby female African elephants, which were flown to England from Zambia on Tuesday. They are both six to seven months old: Katie weigh about 420lb. and Susie is slightly smaller, weighing about 400lb. Katie and Susie were named whilst still in Africa, and answer to their names already. They are very good natured and enjoy human companionship.
