April 1st, 1970 Chimpanzee born at Aspinall's private zoo - Yongers, a nine-year-old chimpanzee at Aspinall's private zoo at Howletts, near Canterbury, pictured with her offspring to which she recently gave birth. Her proud owner, Mayfair gambler John Aspinall said: "I'm as pleased as Punch. This is the first baby chimp ever born in a private zoo in Britain.'
