"Tattersalls Tavern" Opened in London... "Red Rover" Coach Arrives. Mr. and Mrs. Sanders Watney in a "Red Rover" Stage Coach - with other guests - travelled to the new "Tattersalls Tavern" which has been built in Raphael Street at the junction of Knightsbridge Green - for the purpose of opening to Tavern - and hoisting a traditional ale garland... The new tavern takes the place of "The Pakenham" which was a resort for Tattersalls customers before 1939... It has been renamed to commemorate the passing of the famous auction room alongside... Keystone Photo Shows: The "Red Rover Coach" arrives at the tavern for the opening ceremony this morning.
