"Credits: Camerapix" Kenya independence - 10th anniversary: On Uhuru Day, tenth anniversary of the occasion in 1963. when Kenya finally gained her independence from Britain, President Kenyatta broadcast a Message to the Nation from Jamhuri Park in Nairobi where he reviewed a spectacular marchpast of the Kenyan Armed Forces. During his Message, he told Kenyans that in future primary education for all children in the first standards would be free.
