Leopold Sedar Senghor Visites Portugal: The Poet, philosopher, politician, Leopold Senghor visites Portugal, who knows? Perhaps the country of his ancestors. Indeed, Leopold Senghor was born in 1906 in Joal, former fortress of the first Portuguese colonists. His name, when not writing letter G, becomes "Senhor" (Mister). Some days before his arrival in Portugal, he declared to the Press: "Our relations with Portugal have to take amplitude and depth."
