September 27th, 1971 The 4th International Antiquarian Book Fair opens at the Europa Hotel ' The 4th International Antiquarian Book Fair was opened today at the Europa Hotel, Grosvenor Square, London. The exhibits, valued at about a million pounds, will comprise some 20,000 books on every conceivable subject. They include Philosophiae by Anicius Manilius Boethius at £37,500. One of the most important books in the world literature, this copy if the first edition in English, translated by Geoffrey Chaucer, it was printed by William Caxton at Westminster in 1478. Photo Shows: Frank Muir, the TV and Radio personality, who opened the exhibition is seen looking at the £37,500 De Consolatione Philosophiae, at the fair today.
