28-7-50 British made "Freedom Bell'' to ring out in Berlin. American Ambassador attends ceremony - Mr. Lewis Douglas, the United States Ambassador to London, attended the ceremony at Messrs. Gillett and Johnston at Croydon yesterday of the casting of the "Freedom Bell''. The bell is to be placed in the city of Berlin by the American people as a symbol for the Free World's resistance against Communism. It will be eight feet high, weigh ten tons and will bear the inscription "That this world, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom''. Keystone Photo Shows: Mr. Lewis Douglas , places his favourite talisman into the mould. This talisman has been in the Ambassador's possession for twelve years, and was used as the "Fight for Freedom'' emblem which he founded in 1940 to endeavor to make his countrymen understand that it was their fight as well as that of Great Britain.
