Lord Andlady Mountbatten Receive Freedom of Edinburgh. The freedom of Edinburgh and the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws of Edinburgh University, were conferred yesterday on both Admiral Earl Mountbatten, C-in-C Allied Forces,Mediterranean, and Countess Mountbatten. Keystone Photo Shows:- Earl Mountbatten being "capped" by Sir Edward Appleton, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Edinburgh University at the graduation ceremony in the McEwan Hall.
