A %39 Million takeover bid for Rowntree, the giant British chocolate manufacturer, has been made by General Foods of America. After an overnight flight from New York, Mr. Tex Cook, the 59 year old chief of General Foods, ahs arrived in London to meet his merchant bankers, Warburg's, to discuss tatics and timing for his offer.
