David Ennals Takes It With a Smile. Health Secretary Mr. David Ennals, who was taken into Wesminster Hospital yesterday for tests on a painful leg complaint was threatened with blacking by members of the NUPE workers. They will refuse to sell him newspapers, make him tea or coffee, being him flowers, of take him his mail. One letter got through, however it asked him to sign a petition for a better pay rise for nurses.
