Getting Ready For 30,000 Mile Voyage The Captain And His Mascot: A party of nine young people are preparing their ex-German yacht "ASTA" in the Hamble River, Hampshire for their 30,000 mile "roundabout" voyage to San Francisco, via the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, Ceylon and the East Indies. Richard Aramburu who comes from Marsailles, France is Captain. He was a fisherman in South America. Photo shows Richard Araburu the Captain holds a miniature "Irish Doll" mascot - at the wheel of the "ASTA" at Hamble River. The doll was given him by his wife when he was a fisherman and he has kept it ever since. They hope to leave on their voyage on Friday next.
